Deanna Mathers 9th September 2017 This event has closed

Story

Our dad 'Kevin Mathers' passed away unexpectedly on the 16th February 2012. This year we celebrate his 50th Birthday and also the 5 year anniversary since his death.

Dad suffered from epilepsy for the last 10 years or so of his life and it became a significant part of all of our lives. It wasn't until after his death that I discovered Epilepsy Action and they have been a great support in helping us fundraise over £2000 for them already in memory of our Dad. (Please see his sunflower tribute page - http://kevinmathers1967.muchloved.com/ )

On the 9th September 2017, Deanna, Kirsty and Luke (his children) have decided to take part in the Thames Path Challenge, walking 50km along the river Thames. Dad would have turned 50 on the 14th July and we thought this is the perfect opportunity to celebrate his birthday and his life. We are walking a Kilometre for every year of his life and have each agreed to raise £275 for this, which will go towards helping other people who are affected by epilepsy.

If you can donate anything towards this £825 target we would be ever so grateful! No matter how small! If you knew Kevin perhaps leave a comment with a memory you have of him or a picture.

Help us celebrate his life and his birthday! - If anyone wants to come support us on the day let us know and we can give you more information!!
